Professional Dance Performance: Activisms

Activisms by Karen Barbour is a new season of performance created for the Sustainable Backyard Garden during the Hamilton Gardens Arts Festival 19-21 Feb. Immersed in the intimate environment of this garden, audience members of all ages will experience delectable moments of dance that will both nourish and stimulate awareness of our practices of food consumption and sustainability. A free workshop/s especially for festival participants will offer an opportunity to experience movement for wellbeing and experience the creative process of the performances. Saturday 18 Feb 11.30am in the Chinosiere Garden.

ABOUT US:


Waikato Contemporary Dance Projects Trust works to advance education and benefit the community through participation in contemporary dance and related practices in the Waikato region. In particular, the Trust aims to increase the accessibility of dance in the Waikato region; to offer regular dance classes, workshops and performance events; to foster and support local contemporary dance artists of any age; to promote dance as a means to physical activity and wellbeing; to utilize dance as a vehicle for raising awareness about social and environmental issues; to pay operational and administrative expenses of the Trust and its projects; and to be an umbrella organization to source funding for dance projects developed in the Waikato.
